So, I realized that we were using WordPress 2.0.2 on our site, and the most current version is 2.9.1. I’m almost a FULL version behind. Of course, it’s most likely due to the fact that I DON’T EVER POST ANYTHING on here… but that has all been fixed. I have upgraded to the most current version of WordPress, and even installed some nifty new gadgets… or widgets… or something. It’s all supposed to make the site easier for me to still do nothing on. Maybe I should figure out if there is a way to make my blog update my twitter, which in turn updates my facebook…

I know we still have this blog and website, and I hardly ever use it. As a matter of fact, the last post on here was nearly a year ago, which relegates me to the role of “suckiest blogger ever.” But I rarely have much to say, and so I have found that Twitter and Facebook end up being an adequate substitute. I never feel compelled to write witty prose, since I’m limited to only 140 characters. That’s not a lot of space to say anything, which works out great when you really don’t have much to say.
Les and Casen are in NJ, we at least Les is right now. Casen is back in Utah visiting his dad for Christmas. It’s odd without him here. It’s nice having family around.
I suppose I should get up for the gym in the morning. I only have to make it 3 more times this year to reach my goal for 2009. As there are only 7 more days in 2009, I really should get on that.

I think our webhost made some changes, because for a long time, I couldn’t get to any of the pages on our site. I finally had some time this afternoon to sit down and figure it out… It appears that all of our pages were set to 777, and should be 755. I don’t really know what that means, but there was a handy dandy tool on their site that allowed me to change it at their direction, and the site is back up and running (not that I’ll pay a lot of attention to it, DAMN YOU Facebook!).
Things are going well, and spring is finally on it’s way. We are planning to spend the day tomorrow doing yard work. I think this will be the one time this year that I’m excited to do yard work.

just a quick post to say that almost 4 weeks, is not enough time for your stomach to heal enough to handle tomatoes. I thought it would be a good idea to try that for dinner tonight.
Needless to say, a popsicle quickly took it’s place for dinner.Â

According to the scales upstairs, I now weigh 329 pounds.  I tell you this because according to the same scale, I weighed 362 pounds one week ago today. However I don’t really believe it. I’ll see what the doctor says on Tuesday when I go see him. Maybe I was dressed in lead shoes last week? I did get new flip flops since then, the old ones may have been much heavier.
I’ve been on a a clear liquid diet since Monday, and I’m growing weary of it. I don’t know if I can move to the next stage of the diet which is pureed food… which isn’t much better. BUT, it would be something more than Jell-O and Popsicles. Not that there’s anything wrong with either of those two food items, but when it’s ALL you get to eat, it does become a little tiring.
I have yet to actually feel hungry, or even like eating. I just keep measuring 1-2 oz of food, and making sure I’m eating every now and then, along with drinking at least a zillion gallons of water (or so it seems) each day.
I’m still kind of sore from the incisions, and (pardon the TMI) very gassy. I have no question of why I’m sore, and the gas is from the fact that they pumped me full of air to do the surgery.
I had Frank take pictures of the “before” and as soon as I get to a worthy “after” point, I’ll post them together…

I just wrote this to a friend via facebook, and felt it quite appropriate to post here on the ol’ blog…
was really self-induced. I had gastric bypass surgery… And I must say, for a surgical newbie, it might have been better to start off with something smaller, like maybe my tonsils or something to see if I really could do it.
BUT, here I am 5 days later, still on a clear liquid diet with 5 incisions on my stomach, and no going back now… I really wanted a taco last night for dinner, but instead I had sugar free jell-o. I know in a few weeks I’ll be able to eat more normal food, but it’s just GETTING through those few weeks that has me glum…
BUT, I went into the surgery at 362 lbs, and today I’m 341. So that’s good, right?

So you know how sometimes, you think it’s a good idea to drive to National Harbor, Maryland with the top down? And you know how sometimes, that very same day, it’s 96º outside, but it doesn’t feel like it, because you are driving about 80 mph down I-95? Just so you know, next time you might have one of those days, RESIST THE URGE! Either that, or put sunblock on your fair upper arm that never sees the sun (thank you very much farmer tan).
If you think I’m kidding, just ask my blistering, peeling left arm. OH, and did I mention BLISTERING! I hate having sunburns, especially since I don’t much like being in the sun.
Other than that, it was a nice trip. I was there for a work-related conference, which was nice. The hotel was great, bordering on obscene… but still nice. I got to have dinner with my friend Barb one night… but other than that, I had NO free time.
We are having a yard sale tomorrow. I don’t really know how that is going to pan out, since neither Frank nor I stopped at the bank to get change for it. I think if I send him to Dunkin’ Donuts in the morning with a $20 and have him ask for change in $1′s, we should be ok. Other than that, not much is happening. I’m off to bed, but perhaps I’ll report back on the outcome of tomorrow’s festivites.

Frank just walked into the office, “Guess what I just read online.”
“what?”
“The Apple store officially opens at 8:00 am on Friday.”
and then he walked out of the room.
